Cidade Olímpica (Olympic City Project) holds 1st Exchange in Pingo D’água

Exchange strengthens the bond between students

On the morning of last Saturday (16), Associação Ajudôu, through the Cidade Olímpica project, held the first Exchange between students from the two cities served, Pingo D’água and Ipaba (MG). The event was held at the Caburezão Poliesportivo Gym in Pingo D’água.

The event was attended by approximately 150 students, an audience of 300 people, including supporters, sponsors, local authorities and the community, who embraced the project.

On the occasion, all students received medals as a form of incentive and ten students (05 from Pingo D’água and 05 from Ipaba) received an award kit from Cenibra, for outstanding attendance and behavior during classes.

For the general coordinator of Ajudôu, the event exceeded expectations. “We managed to get a good participation of the students and also of the community, demonstrating the importance of the project for the cities”, he comments.

“The exchange is important for students to get to know themselves and also students from other cities. In addition to the project providing sports and leisure, it also works in socialization” emphasizes the project’s professor, Josimar Santos.

Cidade Olímpica offers volleyball and futsal classes, totally free of charge, collaborating with social development, providing leisure conditions and reducing school dropout rates. The project benefits 240 children and adolescents.

The project is developed by Associação Ajudôu, through the federal law to encourage sport, the Ministry of Sport, with sponsorship from Cenibra and support from the Cenibra Institute and the Municipalities of Ipaba and Pingo ‘Agua, serving children and adolescents, aged between 07 years old to 17 years old, enrolled in the public education network of the municipalities.
