On May 5th, the Olympic City project will be launched in the cities of Ipaba and Pingo D’água – MG, with the support of municipal governments and sponsored by Instituto Cenibra.
The project is developed by Associação Ajudôu, through the Federal Sports Incentive Law, of the Ministry of Sport, and now serves 240 children and adolescents, aged between 7 and 17, enrolled in the public school system counties.
Cidade Olímpica provides students with access to volleyball and futsal, totally free of charge, collaborating with social development, providing leisure conditions and reducing school dropout rates.
In Ipaba, the launch event will be held at the José Bibiano Estanislau Gym, in the Nossa Senhora das Graças neighborhood, at 9 am and in the city of Pingo D’água, at the Poliespotivo Caburezão Gym, at 2 pm.
The event is open to the public and at the opportunity, the materials will be delivered to the students, along with the presentation of the work to be developed and with the presence of local authorities and sponsors.
“It is very important that the community participate in the launch and get to know the project up close, thus being able to welcome and encourage sport for children and adolescents, aiming at social development”, stressed the project’s teacher, Josimar Santos.
Ajudôu’s mission is to promote the development of people in situations of social vulnerability by encouraging sports, educational support, and facilitating social inclusion.
