More than 300 students from the municipal network were present to celebrate the return of free judo classes in the community, after two years of inactivity in the municipality.
In partnership with the Municipality of Timóteo, the classes will cover 600 students, between 4 and 14 years old, from the municipal network. In addition to the one that hosted the event, they are: João Bolinha Municipal School for Children in Cachoeira do Vale, Clarindo Carlos Miranda Municipal School in Macuco, Limoeiro Municipal School, Ana Moura Municipal School in Vale Verde and Novo Tempo Municipal School. In addition to the 6 schools, APAE will also receive weekly project classes.
“It is very gratifying for Ajudôu to return to work in Timóteo, after all, this is where it all started. After two years of inactivity in the city, we received a lot of requests to come back. When the opportunity arose, we insisted on participating in the public notice. Thankfully, everything worked out”, says Júlio César Jaques, Founder of Ajudôu.
Judo in the school routine and in the lives of children
Judo is a sport that really makes a difference in the school environment. It helps children to increase their physical and psychic abilities, and imprint important values such as companionship and respect for others. This is one of the reasons that educators support the Ajudôu Project so much within schools.
One of these supporters is Denise Dias, director of E. M. Angelina Alves de Carvalho, “Social inclusion through sport helps in every way. With the Ajudôu Project, students become even calmer, as they leave a good part of their energy in judo. In the classroom, they become more disciplined and focused,” she highlights.
Director Denise Dias, from E. M. Angelina Alves de Carvalho, believes that judo will contribute a lot to student learning.
As well as the director, the resident of Centro Sul, Paula Cristina also approved the news at E. M. Angelina Alves. She didn’t think twice when she learned that they would have free judo classes at her 6-year-old son Davi Araújo’s school. “I believe that judo is the best sport for my son. I think it will contribute a lot to Davi’s learning, as it helps to develop his mind and character”.
