“This first conversation was the opportunity we needed to gain access to the administration and expose the status of the project”. This is how the general coordinator of Ajudôu, Júlio César Lana Jaques, positioned himself last Friday, the 24th, after participating in the first meeting with the mayor of Timóteo, Douglas Willkys and his team.
The resumption of the project, which teaches judo classes in schools in the municipal network, was the agenda of the meeting. According to the municipal administration, judo classes are essential, as they offer sports activities for students in the network and also have a relevant social function. “We know the importance of practicing sports in schools to take children and young people off the streets, among others”, pointed out the deputy mayor, José Vespasiano.
Also according to the administration, there is the possibility of resuming the partnership with Ajudôu later this year, however, the definition of the number of schools to be served still depends on the availability of resources.
