Ajudôu awaits support from the PMT for the return of activities in Timóteo

This Friday morning (03), the Associação Ajudôu team met to align the new projects for the second half of the year. The expectation is that, with the new municipal administration, the Ajudôu Project will once again serve in Timóteo.

In September 2017, the project stopped serving 500 children and adolescents from the municipal school system, completely free of charge, due to the lack of support from the Municipality of Timóteo, a partnership that had existed since 1995.

The Ajudôu project provided judo classes in municipal schools, Prof. Maria Aparecida Martins Prado (MAMP), Clarindo Carlos de Miranda, Angelina Alves de Carvalho, Municipal and Ana Moura.

“We have 400 kimonos and 400 mats parked at the Association for the municipality of Timóteo, we are just waiting for the partnership and support of the new municipal mayor to start work again”, says the general coordinator of Ajudôu, Júlio Jacques.

“The end of our activities in Timóteo was very sad, children miss classes and parents often ask about returning”, added Júlio Jacques, confident of the project’s return.

Ajudôu was conceived due to the lack of opportunities for low-income populations in socio-educational development, which allows access to specialized sports, free of charge. Due to its high cost, despite its great contribution to the physical, mental and moral training of practitioners, it is not popular with this audience.

Since its implementation, Ajudôu has served more than 20,000 children and adolescents, providing the community with a new concept of the benefits of sport, an important tool for academic extension, and mainly, the right of children to have fun and interact in an organized way.
