Ajudôu promotes active learning methods through exchanges

Associação Ajudôu constantly seeks to promote the development of the students served, in a didactic and creative way. That is why, every semester, the entity promotes exchanges between the benefited cities.

The first exchange program for Projeto Ajudôu Year III took place in July, in the city of São José do Goiabal. The event was a success and enabled students to learn through active teaching methodologies, putting into practice what was learned in classes, which are held twice a week in public schools in the municipalities.

Continuing the project calendar, on the afternoon of this Wednesday, 19, the second exchange took place in the city of Dionisio. The event brought together approximately 130 students. Each participant had two fights and all the students received medals as an incentive. “We always seek to teach that everyone is capable, and that the most important thing is not to win, but to compete and learn”, explained the general coordinator of Ajudôu, Julio Jacques.

“Whenever we tell students that there will be an exchange, they start to create very good expectations. This encourages them to train more and more. It is very gratifying to see their joy in knowing that they will be watched fighting in the events”, says the project’s professor, Everton Alves.

“I am very proud of the development of my students. Exchanges promote an exchange of experiences and so we can launch new training plans and clearly monitor their confidence. The joy that it awakens in children is also essential, there is a very good socialization between them and I see the difference when we go back to the weekly classes, they are more motivated”, declared professor Fernando Cipriano.

Ajudôu Year III student, Ana Júlia Neves, says she really likes the project. “I really like judo because it helped me to develop in several areas, the sensei (teacher) is very good and patient with us”, she says.

“It’s very good because we can show the work we do with children to outsiders. Their behavior throughout the teaching process changes, they learn discipline and this is clear in our events”, added Fernando Cipriano.

The event was also attended by the mayor of São José do Goiabal, José Roberto, sponsors, representatives of the school community and project supporters. Ajudôu Year III The project is carried out by Associação Ajudôu, through the Minas Gerais State Sports Incentive Law, sponsored by Arcelormittal and supported by Fundação Arcelormittal Brasil and the Municipalities of São José do Goiabal and Dionísio.

In judo classes, the fundamentals of the sport are taught, as well as the values of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, tolerance, among others. Students have to maintain a great attendance in classes and have great results in the classroom.
